Four Tanzanian para-tennis players are preparing to compete at the Nairobi Open, scheduled from September 5 to 14 in Nairobi, Kenya.
The tournament offers athletes a chance to earn international ranking points and secure entry into major competitions organized by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
Speaking to The Respondent Online, national para-tennis team head coach Riziki Salum said the team’s focus is to gain valuable ranking points and experience.
“These tournaments are crucial for players to earn international rankings. Our athletes are ready, motivated, and determined to perform at their best,” Salum said.
He added that preparations are in the final stages, and the team is set to depart Tanzania on September 5 for Nairobi.
Coach Salum expressed confidence in his players, emphasizing their potential to achieve strong results and proudly represent the country.
The Tanzanian team comprises Rehema Saidi, Pendo James, Voster Isaya, and Jumanne Nasoro, guided by Coach Salum and assistant coach Amina Daud.
