Dr. Doto Mashaka Biteko has formally collected his nomination to contest the Bukombe parliamentary seat under Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM).

The nomination was submitted today, August 26, 2025, at the Bukombe offices of the National Electoral Commission (NEC), with the constituency election supervisor, Zedekiah Solomon Osano, receiving the documents.

The nomination comes as part of preparations for the upcoming general elections scheduled for October 29, 2025.

The event drew overwhelming support, with more than 1,000 CCM members and party supporters present, far exceeding the legal requirement of 31 sponsors.

Addressing the gathering at the CCM district offices in Bukombe, Dr. Biteko urged voters to conduct campaigns peacefully and uphold unity and love within the community. He called on residents to elect capable leaders for continued development.

“When the time comes to elect leaders we trust, I ask you to choose Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan as President, elect me as your Member of Parliament, and support CCM councillors so we can continue the work we have already started,” Dr. Biteko said.

Leonard Mwakalukwa, CCM District Secretary for Bukombe, said over 3,500 party members turned out to support Dr. Biteko during the nomination.

He added that 31 sponsors from all 17 wards officially endorsed the candidate, representing 969 residents.

The submission of Dr. Biteko’s nomination underscores CCM’s strong presence in Bukombe and sets the stage for a competitive campaign ahead of the October general elections.
