DP presidential candidate collected nomination forms to INEC

The Democratic Party (DP) presidential candidate, Mr. Abdul Juma Mluya, formally collected his nomination forms to the National Electoral Commission (INEC) today, marking a key step toward the 2025 general elections.

INEC Chairman, Appeals Court Judge Jacobs Mwambegele, personally handed over the nomination forms to Mr. Mluya, who was accompanied by his running mate, Mr. Sadoun Abrahman Khatib. 

The submission took place at the Commission’s headquarters, with the nomination process scheduled to conclude on August 27.

INEC’s Election Director, Mr. Ramadhan Kailima, guided the DP candidate through the submission procedures, ensuring all requirements were properly met.

Speaking at the event, Chairman Mwambegele emphasized the Commission’s commitment to a transparent and credible electoral process.

 Also present was INEC Deputy Chairman, Acting Appeals Court Judge Mbarouk Salim Mbarouk.

The submission of nomination forms by Mr. Mluya and his running mate marks the official start of their campaign for the nation’s top offices and sets the stage for what promises to be a closely watched election.
