Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has raised TZS 86 billion during the launch of its fundraising drive aimed at supporting campaigns ahead of the 2025 General Election.

The event, held on August 12, 2025, at Mlimani City in Dar es Salaam, marked the start of an ambitious effort to raise TZS 100 billion to finance nationwide campaign activities and voter engagement.

According to party figures, TZS 56.31 billion was collected in cash, while pledges totaled TZS 30.2 billion.

Major contributions included TZS 10 billion from GSM Group, TZS 16 billion from the Mining Commission, TZS 100 million from CCM National Chairperson and President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, and TZS 50 million from CCM Vice-Chairperson (Zanzibar) and President of Zanzibar, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi.

In her remarks, Dr. Samia expressed deep appreciation to all contributors, stating that giving is a matter of the heart, not wealth, and encouraging supporters, including members of the Tanzanian diaspora, to continue donating through official channels.

CCM Secretary-General, Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, said the fundraising drive will continue until August 27, giving more Tanzanians an opportunity to participate in what he described as a national effort to strengthen the party’s readiness for the elections.
