The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) has praised top artists William Lyimo, popularly known as Billnas, and Faustina Mfinanga, known as Nandy, for voluntarily paying their taxes.

The artists visited TRA headquarters in Dar es Salaam today, where they were acknowledged by Commissioner General Mr. Yusuph Juma Mwenda.

Mr. Mwenda applauded the musicians for setting a strong example of patriotism, noting that their actions contribute directly to national development.

“Voluntary tax payment is the foundation of a strong economy. I commend Billnas and Nandy for their patriotism,” he said.

Billnas emphasized that paying taxes is a key way to support the nation’s growth.

“The taxes we pay bring positive changes to society, including improved infrastructure and public services,” he said.

Nandy also praised TRA for its efforts in tax collection and stressed the importance of taxes in supporting various sectors, including the music industry.

“Revenue collected helps strengthen the music industry and other sectors across the country. I urge fellow artists and citizens to pay taxes voluntarily to build a better Tanzania,” she said.

Both Billnas and Nandy have pledged to serve as ambassadors for voluntary tax payment, working with TRA to educate the public on the role of taxes in national development.
