The Boxing Federation of Tanzania (BFT) is preparing to host another international coaching training program later this year, aimed at strengthening the skills of local boxing coaches.

Recently, BFT conducted a training session led by Dr. Gabriel Martelli, chief instructor of the World Boxing Association and the European Boxing Association.

The sessions combined online learning with in-person classes at the CCM building in Manzese, Dar es Salaam.

Speaking to The Respondent Online, BFT President Lukelo Willilo said the program targeted 50 coaches, with the goal of expanding Tanzania’s pool of internationally certified boxing instructors.

“Our objective is to develop more internationally qualified boxing coaches, enabling the sport to grow both within Tanzania and beyond our borders,” Willilo said.

“This is a major milestone in BFT’s plans to transform boxing in the country. We aim to conduct more international trainings to benefit even more coaches. We thank God for every achievement and remain committed to turning our plans into action.”he added

Willilo added that 30 Tanzanian coaches recently completed the Level 1 International Coaching Training, which ran from July 26 to August 6 this year.
