Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Ms. Jenifa Christian Omolo, has commended the Government Communications Unit of the Ministry for successfully completing the fourth edition of the Our Treasury magazine for the 2025/2026 financial year.

Ms. Omolo made the remarks at her office in Dodoma while receiving the latest edition from the Head of the Government Communications Unit, Mr. Benny Mwaipaja, who handed it over on behalf of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Natu El-Maamry Mwamba. The magazine is produced quarterly by the Communications Unit.

She praised the magazine’s presentation, noting that its articles and information are well-structured and easy to follow.

“I urge the team to continue ensuring that Our Treasury magazine fully highlights the core functions of the Ministry of Finance, including management of financial policies, government revenue collection, budget implementation, and efforts to grow the national economy,” said Ms. Omolo.

She emphasized that the magazine should remain a strategic government communication tool, presenting the implementation of the National Development Vision 2050, as well as the Ministry’s short- and long-term plans, in a clear and accessible manner.

Ms. Omolo further advised that each edition should reflect government priorities, including special features on strategic projects, quarterly achievements, and challenges being addressed by the Ministry.

“It is very important for our unit to ensure that this information reaches as many citizens as possible and in a timely manner, using all available communication channels,” she added.

On the topic of digital transformation, Ms. Omolo noted that citizens increasingly rely on social media, official government websites, and digital publications for information.

She urged the Communications Unit to continue using effective strategies to reach diverse communities through these platforms.

She also commended the unit for its efforts in informing citizens about the Ministry of Finance’s functions and achievements, as well as those of the government as a whole.

For his part, Mr. Benny Mwaipaja pledged to enhance communication strategies to ensure that citizens receive accurate and timely information about the Ministry’s work.

Mr. Mwaipaja thanked Ms. Omolo for her commendation on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mwamba, and assured that all guidance provided by the Deputy Permanent Secretary would be fully implemented to improve Our Treasury magazine, ensuring it continues to be a key source of information for stakeholders.
