Young Africans Sports Club (Yanga SC) has continued its impressive form off the pitch by dominating the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) monthly awards for June 2024, a fitting recognition of the club’s on-field excellence in the NBC Premier League.

In an official statement released by the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB), Yanga midfielder Peodoh Pacome Zouzoua was named Best Player of the Month, while head coach Miloud Hamdi was crowned Coach of the Month.

Their stellar performances in June played a crucial role in Yanga’s flawless finish to the season.

Zouzoua stood out among a competitive shortlist that included his teammate Clatous Chama and Kibu Denis of Simba SC.

The Ivorian playmaker was instrumental in Yanga’s three matches during the month, scoring three goals and registering one assist in just 242 minutes of play.

His consistency, creativity, and goal-scoring prowess made him the clear choice for the individual accolade.

On the technical bench, Coach Miloud Hamdi earned praise for guiding Yanga to three commanding victories, culminating in their crowning as NBC Premier League champions for the 2024/2025 season

Hamdi outshined fellow finalists Rachid Taoussi of Azam FC and Fred Felix of Pamba Jiji FC to claim the award.

Under Hamdi’s leadership, Yanga recorded emphatic wins over Tanzania Prisons (5-0), Dodoma Jiji (5-0), and archrivals Simba SC (2-0) a run that not only secured the title but also reaffirmed Yanga’s status as a dominant force in Tanzanian football.

In addition to the player and coach honors, the TFF Awards Committee recognized Jackson Mwamwenda, the Stadium Manager of Tanzanite Kwaraa in Manyara Region, as Best Venue Manager of the Month

Mwamwenda was lauded for his outstanding event coordination, maintenance of sporting facilities, and his commitment to improving matchday operations.

The TFF’s monthly awards aim to celebrate excellence and professionalism within the local football ecosystem.

Yanga’s clean sweep in June reflects the club’s comprehensive strength from the players and technical staff to the broader support systems that continue to drive their success.
