The torch will also inspect 23 ongoing projects with a combined value of Sh55.9 billion, including Sh330 million in contributions made by local communities.

The funding for the projects comes from multiple sources. The central government has contributed Sh62.2 billion, local authorities have added Sh1.9 billion from their own revenues, while development partners and other stakeholders have provided Sh6.9 billion.

“I commend the people of Manyara for their efforts in identifying and implementing these projects. This demonstrates strong community ownership in development,” said Sendiga.

The 2025Uhuru Torch campaign is being led by Ismail Ussi, who highlighted the year’s national theme focused on peace and participation in the upcoming general elections.

“This year’s torch calls on all Tanzanians to turn out in large numbers and vote in the presidential, parliamentary, and councillor elections. Through active participation, we can ensure a stable and prosperous future,” he said.
