Majaliwa honours Energy Ministry’s Communication head for excellence at Osaka Expo

Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has presented a national award of excellence to the Head of Government Communication Unit at the Ministry of Energy, Neema Chalila Mbuja, in recognition of her outstanding contribution to promoting Tanzania at the Osaka Expo 2025 in Japan.

The award was handed over during the official closing of the 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), commonly known as Sabasaba, where the Premier commended Ms Mbuja’s professionalism and leadership in global engagements.

“She demonstrated exceptional communication skills that helped position Tanzania prominently at the Osaka World Expo. Her dedication reflects the kind of public servants this nation needs  capable, focused and patriotic,” said the Prime Minister.

Ms Mbuja was instrumental in leading Tanzania’s communication strategy during the International Business, Investment and Tourism Forum held as part of the global exhibition. Her performance drew praise from government leaders and international stakeholders alike.

The award was conferred by the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade), which also coordinated the country’s participation at the Expo.

In her remarks, Ms Mbuja expressed her gratitude to the Prime Minister and pledged to continue representing the country with commitment and excellence on the international stage.

“I am humbled by this honour and take it as a motivation to keep raising the bar. This recognition is not mine alone it belongs to the team and the Ministry of Energy, which has continuously supported professional growth in public communication,” she said.

The Osaka Expo 2025, a major global event bringing together nations to showcase development, innovation, and investment potential, has become a platform for Tanzania to market its opportunities to the world.

 Ms Mbuja’s award reflects the increasing importance of strategic communication in national development and diplomacy.

Tanzania’s strong showing at the Expo is expected to yield long-term benefits in trade, energy partnerships, and tourism, thanks in part to effective communication and leadership from professionals like Ms Mbuja.
