Tanzania’s former First Lady, Janeth Magufuli, paid a high-profile visit to the Prime Minister’s Office pavilion at the 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), widely known as Sabasaba, underscoring continued national interest in government service delivery and citizen engagement.
Widow of the late President Dr John Pombe Magufuli, Mrs Magufuli was received with honour by senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office as she toured the government’s integrated pavilion, which showcases a cross-section of public services and national development initiatives.
Her visit highlighted key areas of public service delivery, including disaster risk management, health and safety at work, political party education, youth empowerment, and services tailored for people with disabilities.
The pavilion also features strategic national programmes such as the Agricultural Sector Development Programme Phase II (ASDP II), alongside ongoing campaigns in the fight against HIV and AIDS.
Government-affiliated institutions including the Tanzania National Business Council (TNBC), the National Economic Empowerment Council (NEEC), the Government Printer, and the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties are engaging visitors on their respective mandates.
Representatives from key social security and labour-related institutions namely the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), the Public Service Social Security Fund (PSSSF), the Workers Compensation Fund (WCF), and the Commission for Mediation and Arbitration (CMA) are also on-site to provide information and support to the public.
The annual Sabasaba Trade Fair remains one of Tanzania’s premier platforms for connecting citizens with government services, fostering economic inclusion, and showcasing national progress.
Mrs Magufuli’s appearance not only drew attention to the Prime Minister’s Office’s role in public administration, but also served as a reminder of the enduring legacy of civic duty and leadership.
