Engineer Geremano Barnabas Ngusa, a civil engineer and construction contractor, has officially joined the race for the Nzega Rural parliamentary seat, seeking nomination from the ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM).
He collected nomination forms this week, saying his move was based on a desire to help solve challenges facing people in the constituency. These include poor infrastructure, limited access to clean water, inadequate health services, and education-related issues.
“I want to bring real solutions and ensure that development projects are implemented effectively. I believe my technical background gives me the ability to do that,” he said.
Eng. Ngusa is part of a growing number of young professionals entering politics through CCM. His focus, he says, is on accountability, proper use of public funds, and improving service delivery.
His announcement comes at a time when CCM is preparing for its internal nomination process, ahead of the October general election. The Nzega Rural seat is likely to be closely contested, with several aspirants expected to show interest.
Ngusa believes that strong leadership requires both knowledge and community connection. His campaign is expected to centre on using professional skills to push for practical development in rural areas.
