The newly appointed District Commissioner of Tabora, Upendo Wella, has been officially sworn in, pledging to work closely with regional and district leaders to ensure citizens receive quality services and sustainable development.
The swearing-in ceremony, marked with formality and administrative dignity, was held at the office of the Regional Commissioner of Tabora.
Upendo Wella took the oath of office following her recent appointment by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, as part of ongoing reforms in the public service sector.
Immediately after taking the oath, Wella expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the President for the trust placed in her through the appointment.
She stated that the appointment is not only a personal honor but also a call to serve citizens with dedication, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility.
“Being appointed as the District Commissioner of Tabora is a great honor. I sincerely thank the President for her trust. I promise not to let Tanzanians down. I will serve with commitment, collaborate with others, and ensure every citizen feels the presence of their government,” she affirmed.
Before this appointment, Wella served as the District Administrative Secretary of Same District in the Kilimanjaro Region, where she demonstrated strong leadership, administrative unity, and effective oversight of development activities.
She noted that this experience has given her renewed strength to serve her new administrative area effectively.
Speaking before various leaders from the Tabora Region and its districts, Wella expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome she received and pledged to work hand in hand with everyone to move the district forward.
She emphasized that true progress is not achieved by one person alone, but through unity and collective cooperation between leaders and citizens.
“I have been welcomed with great warmth, and I know I now have a new family here in Tabora. I will continue to work closely with you, to listen, and to keep communication channels open so that together, we can ensure services reach citizens timely, fairly, and with the quality they deserve,” she concluded.
