The Director of Policy and Government Coordination at the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr Paul Sangawe, has urged greater public awareness of the ongoing stadium project in Arusha, highlighting the opportunities it presents for the region’s development.
Mr Sangawe made the call during an official inspection visit to the construction site, where he received a progress report and expressed satisfaction with the pace of work.
According to the report, the project has reached 51 per cent completion slightly ahead of the 50 per cent target set for this phase.
“This project reflects the government's broader agenda to enhance sports infrastructure across the country,” Mr Sangawe said, calling on stakeholders to maintain momentum and ensure timely delivery.
Designed to host up to 30,000 spectators, the stadium is expected to boost not only sports development but also social and economic activities in Arusha and neighbouring regions.
Construction efforts currently underway include finalising spectator stands, building internal facilities on the lower level, and installing key systems such as electricity, ICT, and fire safety equipment.
Government officials reaffirmed the importance of coordination among contractors, engineers, and regional leaders to ensure the stadium meets both safety standards and the project deadline.
