The championship will feature youth teams both boys and girls from across Zone V, including Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, and host nation Tanzania.

“Preparations are well underway, and by 8 p.m. tonight we will finalize the tournament schedule so that we can kick off the opening matches tomorrow,” said Athur.

She explained that the tournament aims to identify the teams that will qualify to represent Zone V at the upcoming U16 African Championships.

“As the host country, we’re fully prepared. Our infrastructure is in excellent condition, and the national teams are already in camp in Kibaha, Pwani, ready to compete,” Athur added.

The event is expected to bring together top young talent from East Africa, providing them with a platform to showcase their skills on a continental stage.
