A 12-member delegation from Tanzania is set to depart today, Wednesday, June 11, to participate in the National Beach Volleyball Tour scheduled to take place in Rwanda from June 13 to 15.
The trip has been organized by the Faru Sports Foundation in collaboration with Sand für Alle, a sports development organization based in Germany.
According to Robin Msigwa, Secretary of the Faru Sports Foundation, the delegation comprises eight players and four officials.
The main objective of the trip is to provide young Tanzanian athletes with international exposure and experience in beach volleyball.
The players have been selected from various clubs across mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar, including institutions such as Kampala International University Tanzania (KIUT), Tai, and Zanzibar.
Msigwa noted that the tournament will not only serve as a competitive platform but also as part of the athletes’ preparation for future local and international events.
He added that preparations are progressing well, and the final step is to ensure that all participants obtain the necessary travel documents.
The players traveling to Rwanda include Mgeni Hamdani, Salama Mikidadi, Hildaegada Msafiri, Uweza Lulinda, Khamis Khamis, Abbas Ussi, Omar Bure, and David Neeke.
Accompanying them are officials Rechal IIdephonce, Robin Msigwa, Daniel Davis, and Said Alhaji. The team is optimistic and ready to represent Tanzania on the international stage.
