Yanga target ten straight wins against Simba

Young Africans SC (Yanga) have set their sights on extending their dominance over arch-rivals Simba SC, following a commanding 2-0 victory that sealed their Premier League title on Wednesday evening at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

The club’s Head of Communications and Media, Ally Kamwe, made the bold declaration on Thursday, June 26, 2025, saying Yanga will not rest until they register ten consecutive wins over Simba in all competitions.

“We are not tired of beating Simba,” Kamwe said. “Our mission is clear  we want to reach ten straight wins. With a strong technical bench, focused leadership, committed players, and the support of our members and fans, we believe this target is within reach, God willing.”he added

He added that Yanga’s preparations for the new season are already underway and include plans to maintain their momentum in upcoming competitions such as the Community Shield and the CRDB Federation Cup, both of which could see them clash with Simba again.

“The new season begins soon. In July, we will be competing in multiple tournaments, and the possibility of facing Simba again is high. We want to continue this winning streak,” Kamwe noted.

Yanga’s latest triumph over Simba came in the final Kariakoo Derby of the season, a match that not only reaffirmed their superiority but also underscored their consistency in high-stakes encounters.

The victory added to Yanga’s growing record of wins in recent derbies, further solidifying their position at the summit of Tanzanian football. Kamwe’s remarks reflect a club hungry for more and unwilling to settle for short-term glory.
