Tony Rashid set to fight Asanda Ginqi in South Africa

Tanzanian professional boxer Tony Rashid is set to step into the ring for an important fight scheduled to take place in South Africa.

Rashid will go head-to-head with South African boxer Asanda Ginqi in a 10-round bout for the ABU lightweight championship title.

The fight is slated for June 20 in East London, South Africa a city renowned as a major boxing hub in the country.

Rashid boasts an impressive record of 23 fights, with 17 wins, including 11 by knockout. He has suffered 3 losses, 2 by knockout, and recorded 3 draws.

Currently, Rashid is ranked the second-best boxer in Tanzania among 95 competitors in the super featherweight division. On the global stage, he holds the 138th position out of 1,991 boxers, with a two-and-a-half-star rating.

His opponent, Asanda Ginqi, is ranked second in South Africa among 33 boxers and 91st worldwide, also holding a two-and-a-half-star rating. Ginqi has a record of 15 fights, 14 wins (9 by knockout), and just one loss.

The bout will take place at the Border Conference Hall. VIP tickets are priced at 500 Rand (approximately 75,000 Tanzanian shillings), while general admission tickets cost 200 Rand (about 30,000 Tanzanian shillings).
