Tanzania’s National Beach Soccer Team is currently training intensively at Ndege Beach in Mbweni JKT as they prepare for the upcoming East and Central Africa Beach Soccer Championship (CECAFA), scheduled to take place from July 7 to 12 in Mombasa, Kenya.
Speaking recently in Dar es Salaam, head coach Jaruph Rajab expressed confidence in the team’s preparations, noting that morale among the players is very high.
“The preparations are progressing smoothly, and the young players are highly motivated and determined to bring strong competition to the tournament,” said Rajab.
“Each player is focused on proudly representing our nation and raising the national flag high.”he added
The coach highlighted that the tournament will feature five teams from the CECAFA region: Tanzania, Zanzibar, Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Malawi, and the Seychelles Islands.
To enhance the team’s readiness, Rajab shared that they have been playing several friendly matches aimed at boosting the players’ fitness levels and sharpening their skills.
“We will continue to play these friendly games to ensure the team is in peak form and ready to perform at their best when the tournament begins,” he added.
Rajab also called on Tanzanians to rally behind the team, emphasizing the importance of public support as the squad strives to achieve its goals in what promises to be a highly competitive event.
Confident in his squad’s capabilities, Rajab said he has no concerns and believes strongly in the talent and dedication of his players.
He also expressed gratitude that since the team entered training camp, there have been no injuries, and all players remain in excellent health.
