Tanzania’s Minister for Works, Abdallah Ulega, and the Regional Commissioner for Dodoma, Rosemary Senyamule, today conducted a final inspection of preparations ahead of President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s official visit to the region, scheduled for 14 June.
President Samia is set to review progress on two of the country’s flagship infrastructure projects: the 112.3-kilometre Dodoma Outer Ring Road and the under-construction Msalato International Airport, located just outside the capital.
During the inspection, Minister Ulega and Commissioner Senyamule oversaw a successful test landing of a Bombardier Q400 aircraft operated by Air Tanzania at the Msalato site marking a significant milestone in the airport’s development, as the runway is now fully operational.
President Samia will be joined on the tour by Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), which is one of the key financial partners in these major infrastructure undertakings.
The projects are expected to enhance connectivity and stimulate economic growth in central Tanzania.
