On June 2, 2025, the Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA) proudly celebrated its latest achievement as it received the prestigious European Award for Quality Choice Achievement 2025 (ESQR) for outstanding international service standards.
The award was granted at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Stockholm, Sweden, by the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR), a leading organization dedicated to promoting excellence in global service quality.
The internationally recognized accolade was formally received in Dar es Salaam by a TANAPA delegation led by Commissioner for Conservation, CPA (T) Musa Nassoro Kuji.
Commissioner Kuji remarked during the ceremony, “This marks the sixth consecutive year TANAPA has won this award. Such recognition motivates and strengthens our commitment to managing Tanzania’s 21 national parks with excellence, ensuring we consistently deliver world-class services that meet and exceed the expectations of tourists while elevating Tanzania’s reputation globally.”
He added, “Providing exceptional service is deeply ingrained in TANAPA’s culture. We assure Tanzanians and visitors worldwide that we will continue to uphold these high standards so that tourists enjoy our natural attractions and keep returning, thereby boosting Tanzania’s tourism revenue.”
Commissioner Kuji also dedicated this special award to Tanzania’s President, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, acknowledging her personal efforts in promoting Tanzania as the world’s second-best destination for natural wonders. The President has championed this image through two influential films, “Tanzania: The Royal Tour” and “Amazing Tanzania.”
Deputy Commissioner for Conservation and Northern Zone Manager, Steria Ndaga, emphasized that the award is a result of strong collaboration between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, TANAPA, and the Tanzanian people. This teamwork forms the foundation of their continued success in receiving prestigious awards.
Assistant Senior Commissioner for Conservation and Southern Zone Manager, Godwell Meng’ataki, who was part of the delegation in Sweden, noted that TANAPA’s achievement stands out among 42 participating countries.
“This award represents significant progress and valuable lessons that will guide us to maintain and elevate our service quality. It not only enhances TANAPA’s international standing but also serves as an invitation to visitors worldwide to explore Tanzania’s exceptional natural beauty,” Commissioner Meng’ataki said.
The ESQR 2025 Award, won on May 29, 2025, honors TANAPA’s sustained excellence in delivering internationally recognized quality services.
This marks TANAPA’s sixth consecutive win since 2020, underscoring its ongoing dedication to service excellence.
