The organizer of the Swahili Talent Swimming competition, Nelson Lema, has announced plans to host the upcoming season in either Arusha or Zanzibar, aiming to expand the competition's reach beyond Dar es Salaam.

Speaking to The Respondent Online, Lema confirmed that he has already received formal requests from both locations to host the event.

The main goal, he said, is to create more opportunities for young swimmers across the country to participate and showcase their talents.

“For the past two seasons, we’ve successfully held the competition in Dar es Salaam and witnessed tremendous growth, especially in youth participation,” said Lema.

“Now, with growing interest from other regions, we are seriously considering moving the event to either Arusha or Zanzibar. Our mission is to promote swimming across Tanzania and reach aspiring swimmers in more communities.”he added

Lema revealed that this season alone, the competition attracted over 200 participants from schools, academies, and local swimming clubs.

Among the competition's recent achievements is official membership in the Tanzania Swimming Association (TSA).

Lema also noted that the Swahili Talent Swimming program has gained international recognition, offering participants greater visibility and opportunities in the global swimming arena.
