Simba SC delivered a masterclass performance with a dominant 5-0 victory over KenGold in a Tanzanian Premier League match held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the Ali Hassan Mwinyi Stadium in Tabora.

The Reds wasted no time asserting their authority, with Kibu Denis opening the scoring in the 20th minute after a well-worked attacking move.

Just two minutes later, Ellie Mpanzu added the second goal, capitalizing on Simba's early momentum to put his name on the scoresheet.

Simba’s attacking firepower continued to overwhelm KenGold, and by the 26th minute, Kibu Denis had netted his second of the day, making it 3-0 and virtually putting the game out of reach before the half-hour mark.

The pressure didn’t let up, and in the 36th minute, Lionel Ateba struck with a clinical finish to score Simba’s fourth goal of the afternoon. The first half ended with Simba cruising at a comfortable 4-0 lead.

KenGold came into the second half with renewed energy, trying to mount a comeback through more aggressive pressing and tighter defense. However, their efforts failed to yield any real chances as Simba remained in control.

In the 75th minute, Jean Charles Ahoua capped off Simba’s brilliant performance by scoring the fifth and final goal, securing a comprehensive win and underscoring the team’s attacking prowess.

Despite a few late attempts by KenGold to salvage some pride, Simba’s defense remained resolute, and the final whistle confirmed a resounding 5-0 victory for the visitors.

Following the win, Simba stays second in the Premier League standings with 75 points from 28 matches and two games left to play in the season. Their impressive form keeps the title race alive as the season nears its conclusion.
