PPPC, Chinese investors explore agribusiness opportunities in Morogoro

Morogoro. Experts from the Public-Private Partnership Centre (PPPC) have held talks with investors from China’s Anhui Huafei International Trades Co. Ltd to explore investment opportunities in agribusiness within Morogoro Region.

The meeting, convened at the Regional Commissioner’s office, was led by PPPC’s Project Coordinator for Local Government Authorities, Mr. Dakawa Msoleni, who represented the Executive Director of the Centre. 

He was accompanied by Mr. David Mushi from the PPPC’s Projects Department.

The discussions were chaired by Morogoro Regional Administrative Secretary, Dr Mussa Ally Mussa. 

He was joined by Assistant Administrative Secretaries Dr Rozalia Rwegasira (Economy and Production) and Ms. Beatrice Njawa (Trade, Industry and Investment), along with senior officials from Mlimba and Malinyi District Councils, including Mr. Filbert Mbwilo and Mr Geofrey Kamwava.

The key focus of the meeting was to identify and deliberate on potential investment areas in agribusiness across the two districts. 

Stakeholders emphasised the critical role of collaboration between the public and private sectors in accelerating agricultural development and boosting economic growth for local communities.

Mr. Msoleni said the PPPC is committed to facilitating partnerships that enhance agricultural productivity and attract sustainable investments to rural areas.

The meeting signals growing interest from international investors in Tanzania’s agriculture sector, particularly in regions such as Morogoro which are known for their high agricultural potential.
