Dar es Salaam, 16 June 2025
The Miriam Odemba Foundation (MOF) has announced an upcoming health-focused campaign aimed at promoting blood donation, supporting maternal health, and delivering essential health services in Dar es Salaam and neighboring areas.
The campaign is scheduled to take place on 25 July 2025 across selected health facilities.
According to a statement released by the foundation, the initiative seeks to address the pressing needs of new mothers and women in labor, many of whom face significant challenges in accessing quality maternal care and support during and after childbirth.
The campaign will feature blood donation drives, visits to maternity wards, and the provision of basic health services to vulnerable communities.
Beyond its immediate goals, the initiative aims to raise public awareness around the importance of supporting women, parents, and caregivers, while also encouraging youth participation in life-saving activities like blood donation.
Speaking to reporters, Miriam Odemba, founder of the foundation and an internationally recognized Tanzanian model, emphasized the broader social impact of the campaign.
"My heart is deeply invested in the well-being of young girls and their families. At MOF, we believe in creating safe and supportive environments where girls can grow and thrive. This campaign reflects our commitment to women’s health and dignity,” said Odemba.
She extended an invitation to health stakeholders, donors, and volunteers to partner with the foundation, noting that the campaign welcomes all forms of support, including monetary donations, medical supplies, and volunteer services.
The Miriam Odemba Foundation, headquartered internationally, has remained active in various community initiatives across Tanzania, particularly in promoting girls’ education and reproductive health.
Its previous projects have included the distribution of sanitary pads to schoolgirls, construction of school toilets, and assistance to individuals and families in need.
With the July 25th event approaching, the foundation is calling on the public to take part in a united effort to support maternal health and inspire a culture of compassionate giving across the country.
