The Minister of Health, Jenista Mhagama, is set to represent the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, as the Guest of Honour at the official launch of the first phase of the African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE).
The launch ceremony will take place on June 5, 2025, in Abuja, Nigeria, at a state-of-the-art hospital developed by AFREXIMBANK, one of Africa’s leading financial institutions, in partnership with King’s College Hospital of London, United Kingdom.
The AMCE is expected to provide world-class specialized care for non-communicable diseases, including cancer (oncology), blood disorders (haematology), and cardiovascular diseases (cardiology).
In addition to offering advanced treatment, the center will also conduct medical research and provide training programs for healthcare professionals across the continent.
