Minister Kombo begins official visit to Kosovo

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation,  Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, has arrived in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo, for an official visit and to attend the 3rd International Conference on Women, Peace, and Security, scheduled to take place from June 2 to 3, 2025.

The visit is part of ongoing efforts to deepen and strengthen diplomatic relations between Tanzania and Kosovo.

Upon his arrival at Pristina International Airport, Minister Kombo was warmly received by the Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Kosovo, Ms. Rejhan Vuniqi, along with Ms. Eva Kaluwa, the Acting Head of the Tanzanian Embassy in Italy, which also oversees diplomatic representation in Kosovo.

During his stay, Minister Kombo is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Dr. Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz.

In addition, the Minister—accompanied by Ambassador Swahiba Mndeme, Director of the Department of Europe and the Americas at the Ministry, and other senior officials will visit the Kosovo–United States Chamber of Commerce. 

There, he will meet with members of the Board and the Chamber's Chairman, Mr. Arian Zeka, to explore potential areas for economic and investment cooperation.

At the conference, Minister Kombo is expected to participate in a high-level panel discussion under the theme "Mainstreaming Peace in the 21st Century: What Does It Take?" His contribution will highlight Tanzania’s perspectives and experiences in promoting peace, gender equality, and regional stability.

Minister Kombo and his delegation are expected to return to Tanzania on June 4, 2025.
