Minister Chana, World Bank discuss partnership to boost tourism and conservation

The Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Ambassador Dr Pindi Chana, held talks on Friday with a World Bank delegation led by the institution’s Country Director for Tanzania, Nathan Belete, in Arusha.

The meeting followed a workshop that examined the role of conservation in tourism and community development. 

Discussions focused on enhancing collaboration between the ministry and the World Bank to advance strategic projects in the natural resources and tourism sectors, aiming to generate greater national benefits.

Also present at the meeting were Deputy Permanent Secretary (Natural Resources) in the ministry, Commissioner Benedict Wakulyamba; Tanzania Forest Services Agency (TFS) Conservation Commissioner, Prof Dos Santos Silayo; and the Director General of the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB), Ephraim Mafuru.
