Dr. Ally Mandai, a seasoned politician and economist, has officially entered the race for the Kigamboni parliamentary seat on the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) ticket, marking a significant step in his long-standing political career.

Dr. Mandai, who serves as a member of the CCM National Parents’ Council, an economist on the party’s National Finance Committee, and a member of the Dar es Salaam Regional CCM Executive Council, collected his nomination forms in Dar es Salaam on Friday.

Addressing journalists shortly after the exercise, Dr. Mandai said he is committed to representing the people of Kigamboni should he be granted the party’s endorsement.

“Parliament is about effective representation. I am ready to be a voice for the people of Kigamboni, to advance their interests and address the challenges they face,” he said.

With over a decade of experience in politics, Dr. Mandai has served the party from grassroots levels, building a strong reputation as a committed CCM cadre and public policy expert.

His decision to contest comes at a time when the race for CCM nominations across various constituencies is intensifying ahead of the upcoming general election.

Political observers say Dr. Mandai’s experience in economic and governance matters could appeal to voters in Kigamboni, a rapidly growing constituency that continues to face infrastructure and service delivery challenges.
