Majaliwa honours top Tanzanian athletes at national sports awards

 Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa on June 1, 2025, represented President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan at the National Sports Awards ceremony, organized by the National Sports Council (NSC).

 The prestigious event took place at The SuperDome Conference Hall in Masaki, Dar es Salaam.

The awards aim to recognize and celebrate Tanzanian athletes who have represented the country in various international competitions and brought honor and pride to the nation.

In his remarks at the ceremony, Prime Minister Majaliwa reaffirmed the government's continued commitment to investing in the sports sector, emphasizing its role in improving health, creating employment, promoting national unity, driving development, and providing entertainment.

“The Sixth Phase Government understands the power of sports in transforming lives and building the nation. That’s why we are dedicated to supporting athletes and strengthening sports infrastructure across the country,” he said.

During the ceremony, Prime Minister Majaliwa accepted an honorary award on behalf of President Samia, in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the development and promotion of sports in Tanzania.

He was also personally awarded for his leadership and dedication to advancing sports in the country.
