The Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) has officially opened its 2025 loan application window, inviting eligible students to apply for financial support for their higher education studies.
The application period, which commenced on June 15, 2025, will remain open until August 31, 2025.
The opening marks a crucial opportunity for prospective students to secure financial assistance that will enable them to pursue tertiary and higher education.
Applicants who meet the established eligibility criteria stand a chance to benefit from the government-backed loans aimed at easing the financial burden of education.
In a statement, HESLB urged all applicants to thoroughly review the official Loans and Grants Guidelines before submitting their applications.
The guidelines provide detailed information on the application process, eligibility requirements, and supporting documentation needed to complete the application successfully.
The Board emphasized that failure to adhere to these guidelines has previously led to some applicants being disqualified due to incomplete or inaccurate submissions.
"Applicants are strongly advised to take time and carefully read the guidelines to avoid unnecessary mistakes that could affect their eligibility," the Board cautioned.
HESLB’s student loan program remains a cornerstone of Tanzania’s efforts to promote access to higher education, particularly for students from low-income backgrounds who would otherwise struggle to meet tuition and living expenses.
