The Tanzania Swimming Association (TSA) has proudly announced the nomination of elite swimmer Collins Saliboko for a prestigious leadership position on the Athletes Committee of World Aquatics — the international governing body for swimming and aquatic sports.

According to TSA’s Media and Communications Coordinator, Sebastian Kolowa, this nomination marks a historic milestone for Tanzania, as it is the first time a Tanzanian athlete has been considered for such a globally respected role within the sport.

Collins’ nomination is a momentous achievement not only for him personally, but for the entire nation,” said Kolowa.

He is the only swimmer from East Africa to be selected for this important leadership process, and that alone speaks volumes about his dedication and potential.”he added

Kolowa emphasized that Saliboko’s recognition on the global stage is a source of national pride and a step forward in the development of swimming in Tanzania and the broader East African region.

He called upon the Tanzanian public and the swimming community to rally behind Collins with their support and encouragement.

We urge all Tanzanians to continue supporting and praying for Collins as he pursues this remarkable opportunity to represent our country and elevate the Tanzanian flag in international sports leadership,” Kolowa added.
