Tanzania, Morocco strengthen ties through parliamentary visit

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Dr. Doto Biteko, has paid an official visit to the Parliament of Morocco as part of his working tour in the country. The visit underscores Tanzania's commitment to deepening diplomatic and economic ties with Morocco.

While at the Moroccan Parliament in Rabat, Dr. Biteko held productive talks with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami, and Deputy Speaker  Lahcen Haddad.

Our discussions today mark a new chapter in the long-standing friendship between Tanzania and Morocco. We are eager to explore strategic partnerships, especially in key sectors like energy, agriculture, industry, and trade,” said Dr. Biteko.

The Speaker of the Moroccan Parliament, Rachid Talbi El Alami, echoed the sentiment, stating: “Tanzania is a valuable partner to Morocco. We believe that by working together, especially through our parliaments, we can build strong institutional frameworks to support sustainable development in both nations.”he added

The leaders also emphasized the importance of inter-parliamentary collaboration in promoting mutual interests and fostering people-to-people relations.

We believe that strong parliamentary diplomacy is key to deepening bilateral cooperation,” added  Lahcen Haddad. 

This visit is a step forward in creating long-term solutions to shared challenges in energy and economic development.”he added

Dr. Biteko's visit is expected to pave the way for further high-level engagements and technical exchanges between the two countries.
