Singida Black Stars to face Yanga SC in the final

Singida Black Stars have booked their place in the final of the CRDB Federation Cup after an impressive 3-1 win over hosts Simba SC at the Tanzanite Kwaraa Stadium on May 31, 2025.

The visitors took control early in the match, opening the scoring in the 17th minute through Jonathan Sowah.

Emmanuel Kwame, who was later named the Best Player of the Semifinal Stage, doubled the lead in the 35th minute before adding a third with a stunning free kick just four minutes into the second half (49th minute).

Simba SC managed to pull one back in the 68th minute through Jean Ahoua, but it was too little, too late for the home side.

The match marked the final fixture of May 2025 for both teams, with Simba SC ending the month on a disappointing note.

Despite introducing key players Mohamed Hussein Zimbwe Jr. and Ellie Mpanzu in the second half, Simba SC could not break down the resilient Singida defense, led by the rock-solid Kennedy Juma. The defense stood firm and ensured no further goals were conceded.

Ellie Mpanzu, who had a challenging outing, received a yellow card from referee Ahmed Arajiga in the 50th minute following a foul on Kennedy Juma.

Both Simba SC goalkeepers saw action but struggled to contain the Singida attack—Moussa Camara conceded the first goal, while substitute Ally Salim let in the remaining two.

The final will see Singida Black Stars face off against Yanga SC, the defending champions, in what promises to be a thrilling battle for the CRDB Federation Cup title.
