As part of its commitment to social responsibility, SAME KAYA SACCOS, a financial institution based in Same District, Kilimanjaro Region, has extended a helping hand to vulnerable groups by donating essential supplies.
The initiative reflects the institution's appreciation for the community's contribution to its growth and stands as a commendable example of financial organizations giving back to society.
According to SAME KAYA SACCOS Manager, Ms. Elvera Mdee, the institution spent a total of five million Tanzanian Shillings (Tsh 5 million) to procure the donated items.
These included foodstuffs, beverages, school uniforms, hygiene products, and educational materials.
The beneficiaries of this support were Same District Hospital, Chauka Secondary School in Hedaru, and Rafiki Children Centre, an orphanage located in Same town.
Each institution received donations tailored to their specific needs, as identified beforehand.
During the handover ceremony, Ms. Mdee emphasized that SAME KAYA SACCOS is deeply committed to community welfare and believes in being close to the people, especially those in vulnerable situations.
