Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa today, May 8, 2025, paid his respects following the passing of the late Cleopa David Msuya, former First Vice President and retired Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania. The mourning was held at the late statesman’s residence in Upanga, Dar es Salaam.
Speaking to family members and other mourners, Prime Minister Majaliwa offered words of comfort and called for continued prayers for the late Msuya.
“We have lost a pillar of wisdom and patriotism,” said the Prime Minister. “Mhe. Msuya dedicated his life to serving our nation with integrity, humility, and unmatched commitment. We should honor his legacy by upholding the values he stood for.”
He also urged the bereaved family to remain strong, saying:“This is a time of great sorrow, but I encourage you to be patient and steadfast. May the Almighty continue to give you strength, and may He grant our beloved Mzee Msuya eternal peace.”
Cleopa David Msuya passed away on May 7, 2025, at Mzena Hospital in Dar es Salaam, where he was receiving medical treatment.
