Dar es Salaam, May 2025 – itel Mobile and Airtel Tanzania have launched a new smartphone called the itel A90. The event was held in Dar es Salaam and marked another step in the two companies' partnership.
The itel A90 is a powerful and affordable phone. It is made to help more people in Tanzania enjoy digital services.
The phone works well with Airtel’s 4G network and supports the country’s push toward a digital economy.
At the launch event, Airtel Tanzania Device Manager, Asnath Mboya, said the new phone shows their promise to offer good digital tools at a low price.
“This phone helps close the digital gap and brings smart services to more people,” she said. She added that anyone who buys the itel A90 will get 75GB of free data.
Sophia Almeida, itel Tanzania’s Marketing Manager, also spoke at the event. She said the A90 gives users great value.
“It has strong features like a big battery, smooth screen, and water resistance. We are happy to continue working with Airtel Tanzania to help more people enjoy technology,” she said.
The itel A90 has a 6.56-inch HD+ screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. It is also IP54-rated, meaning it can resist dust and water. The design is strong but stylish.
The phone comes with a large 5000mAh battery. It charges quickly with a 15-watt Type-C charger. It also has a 13MP back camera and a 5MP front camera. Users can take clear photos in different lighting conditions.
The itel A90 supports up to 256GB of storage. It also uses memory fusion technology, which helps the phone run many apps smoothly.
For safety, it comes with both a side fingerprint scanner and Face ID.
