Iringa District Commissioner, Kheri James, has called on young people across the district to cultivate a deep sense of patriotism by loving and serving their country in every way possible.

He emphasized that such commitment is vital for building a peaceful, united, and progressive nation that ensures the well-being of all citizens.

He made the remarks earlier today during the official opening of a youth reserve forces training program held in Iringa.

Addressing the participants, James encouraged the youth to take an active role in national development and to remain committed to protecting the country from both internal and external threats.

He highlighted that youth are the cornerstone of Tanzania’s future and their contribution is critical in shaping a safe and resilient society.

“Young people must see themselves as key players in building our nation. Whether through service, discipline, or civic participation, your role is crucial,” he stressed.

The District Commissioner also urged the youth to foster strong relationships within their communities, promoting values of unity, justice, equality, development, and security.

The training program aims to instill patriotism, readiness, discipline, life skills, knowledge on civil security, and anti-corruption awareness, among other essential values.

It is designed to equip participants with both practical and ideological tools needed for national development and self-reliance.

The launch event was attended by members of the District Security Committee, local government leaders, public servants, and residents of Iringa Municipality.
