As global concerns about increasing online threats continue to rise, Tanzania is strengthening its efforts to protect its digital infrastructure by organizing another major Cybersecurity Conference.
The event, scheduled for two days starting April 10, 2025, at the Mount Meru Hotel in Arusha, will highlight the country's commitment to enhancing the resilience of its digital systems.
The conference will bring together sector leaders, policymakers, ICT experts, both local and international cybersecurity specialists, and various stakeholders.
According to Dr. Nkundwe Mwasaga, the Director-General of the Tanzania ICT Commission, the event aims to address challenges and opportunities in safeguarding the digital environment both in Tanzania and globally.
“The rapid digital transformation in Tanzania and across Africa has created numerous opportunities, but it has also opened up avenues for modern cyber risks,” Dr. Mwasaga said in a statement issued to the media yesterday.
“This conference serves as an essential platform for sharing knowledge, building capacity, and fostering collaboration to ensure the safety of our digital environment, both domestically and internationally,” he added.
The event is being organized in partnership with key stakeholders from government agencies, the private sector, and international cybersecurity organizations.
Dr. Mwasaga added that the conference aims to strengthen system resilience against various online threats, raise awareness, and encourage the adoption of best practices in cybersecurity.
It will also address current trends in cybersecurity, including the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Information Protection, and new threats facing businesses and individuals.
As cybercrime continues to rise, it is vital for businesses, government institutions, and individuals to take proactive measures to protect themselves against these threats and safeguard sensitive information and critical infrastructure.
This conference aligns with Tanzania’s Vision of achieving a safe and successful digital economy.
