Tanzania and Poland strengthen economic cooperation

The Minister of Finance, Dr. Mwigulu Lameck Nchemba (MP), met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Her Excellency Anna Radwan-Röhrenschef, in Warsaw, Poland. 

They discussed how to strengthen the economic relationship between Tanzania and Poland through important projects in Tanzania. 

These projects include agriculture, the construction of the Modern Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), and other sectors such as energy, transport, water, and health, where Poland and its private sector can invest.

“As we continue to improve our long-term cooperation, I invite Poland to look at new areas where we can work together. This will help both our countries' economies grow and meet the growing demand for essential services, especially in Dodoma, where the population is increasing,” said  Dr. Nchemba.

He also encouraged Poland to help Tanzania improve the skills of young people by offering vocational training and higher education opportunities. 

This would help Tanzanian experts become more skilled in fields like finance, technology, and industry, supporting the country's economic growth.

In response, Her Excellency Anna Radwan-Röhrenschef praised the strong cooperation between Poland and Tanzania. She promised to continue supporting development projects in Tanzania that will benefit both countries.

She also congratulated President Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania for successfully managing the country's economy and implementing major projects like the SGR. 

She pointed out that while Poland’s economy is large, it has faced challenges due to the war in Ukraine and the impact of COVID-19, and they are eager to learn from Tanzania's experience.

The meeting was also attended by the Tanzanian Ambassador to Germany, His Excellency Hassani Iddi Mwamweta, who also represents Tanzania in Poland.
