Singida Black Stars will face a major test in their upcoming Muungano Cup encounter against JKU, as they are set to miss three of their key players in the match scheduled for tomorrow at Gombani Stadium in Pemba.

The club's Head of Communications, Hussein Masanza, confirmed that forwards Jonnathan Sowah, Ibrahim Imoro, and midfielder Marouf Tchakei will not feature in the squad due to technical reasons.

The absence of these influential players is seen as a blow to the team, given their significant contributions in recent matches.

“Initially, we were optimistic about traveling with a full squad, but unfortunately, three of our stars will not be available due to unforeseen technical issues,” Masanza said.

“Despite their absence, we remain confident in the depth and quality of our team. We've prepared well, and the remaining players are more than capable of delivering a strong performance.”

Masanza emphasized that the team has been training intensively and is motivated to perform well, despite the setback.

He highlighted the importance of maintaining focus and unity within the squad as they aim to progress in the prestigious regional competition.

He also took the opportunity to thank the team’s sponsor, Airtel, for their financial support and provision of kits for the tournament.

“We are incredibly grateful to Airtel for their generous sponsorship. Their support is not only logistical but also a source of motivation for the entire squad. We are determined to fight for the title and make our sponsors and fans proud.”

In addition, Masanza extended his gratitude to the fans who welcomed the team warmly upon arrival in Pemba.

He encouraged them to show up in large numbers at the stadium to cheer on the players. “The support from our fans means everything to us. Their energy and encouragement give our players the drive to push harder on the pitch,” he concluded.

With a determined mindset and a competitive squad, Singida Black Stars remain hopeful of a positive result against JKU, as they continue their campaign in the Muungano Cup.
