Simba SC receive TZS 20 million boost from president Samia

In a move that underscores the growing intersection of sports and national pride, President Samia Suluhu Hassan has awarded TZS 20 million to Simba SC following their vital 1-0 win against South Africa’s Stellenbosch FC in the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final first leg, held at Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar.

The cash reward, part of the President’s well-known “Goli la Mama” initiative, was handed to team captain Mohamed Hussein shortly after the match.

Speaking after receiving the prize, Hussein expressed his team’s appreciation, affirming that the reward would serve as a key morale booster ahead of the second-leg clash in South Africa.

President Samia’s consistent support for Tanzanian football—particularly through “Goli la Mama”—has redefined the role of leadership in sports development.

The initiative incentivizes local clubs that excel in international competitions, and has previously benefited giants like Yanga SC and Azam FC.

By attaching monetary value to performance, the President has injected new energy into the football ecosystem, inspiring clubs to compete with greater determination on the continental stage.

This gesture is more than a financial token—it is a strategic message of encouragement, aimed at nurturing a winning culture in Tanzanian sports.

It also reflects a broader vision where government support is not limited to infrastructure and policy, but extends to active, tangible encouragement of sporting excellence.

As Simba prepares for the crucial return leg, the President’s support reinforces a key truth: when leadership stands behind sports, the potential for national achievement—both on and off the pitch—grows exponentially.

Simba’s victory, and the reward that followed, represent a shining example of how high-level motivation can translate into performance, patriotism, and progress.
