The Minister of State in the President's Office, Regional Administration and Local Government (TAMISEMI), Mohamed Mchengerwa, has called on medical officers nationwide to serve the public with humility and professionalism, emphasizing that the nation depends on them to provide high-quality healthcare services.
Mchengerwa made the remarks in Dodoma while closing the annual conference for medical officers from primary healthcare centers.
“I urge you to share this message with your colleagues about the importance of showing compassion and humility toward Tanzanians who seek services at your healthcare facilities,” Mchengerwa emphasized.
He further encouraged the medical officers to humble themselves and serve with dedication and respect when attending to citizens in district hospitals, health centers, and dispensaries.
He added that President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, along with the President's Office – TAMISEMI and the general public, greatly rely on medical officers to ensure that healthcare services are delivered promptly and effectively.
“I continue to urge you to remain humble. By doing so, no one will take away your credentials. Furthermore, the citizens you serve will offer their prayers for you,” Mchengerwa encouraged.
In a similar vein, the Minister of Health, Hon. Jenista Mhagama, urged the medical officers to uphold their professional oaths by working diligently, with integrity and expertise, to strengthen the healthcare sector and enhance the delivery of services to the public.
The two-day annual conference of medical officers from primary healthcare centers was held under the theme: “The Readiness of Primary Health Centers as a Key Pillar for Achieving Universal Health Coverage.”
