Hausang to launch under-20 youth team

By Victoria Godfrey

Fresh from securing promotion to the Championship League, Hausang FC is now turning its attention to nurturing future stars through the formation of an Under-20 (U-20) youth team.

Speaking to The Respondent Online, Hausang’s Secretary Olena Longo confirmed that the club has already kicked off the recruitment process, targeting young players under the age of 20 with strong football potential.

“We’ve so far received applications from 16 young players. Our goal is to scout at least 50 promising youths who will take part in trials scheduled for May 1,” said Longo.

She explained that the club is searching for players who not only meet the age requirement but also demonstrate discipline, talent, and a passion for the game.

Those who pass the trials will form the club’s official U-20 squad, which will act as a development pathway to the senior team.

“We are committed to building a sustainable future for Hausang. Establishing a youth team is a key part of that vision, and we want to give young players a platform to grow and succeed,” she added.

The club’s decision comes at a time when many local teams are being encouraged to invest in youth football as a long-term strategy for success.

Meanwhile, the senior team has been granted a one-month break following the conclusion of the First Division League season.

Players will return to training in the coming weeks to begin preparations for their first-ever campaign in the Championship League.

Hausang earned promotion after finishing second in the league standings, just behind champions Gunners.

The team’s impressive performance throughout the season has sparked excitement among fans and leadership alike.

With the launch of its U-20 team, Hausang is aiming to build a stronger, more competitive squad for the future—one rooted in homegrown talent and long-term development.
