Arusha, April 22, 2025 – The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Dr. Doto Biteko, has arrived in Arusha Region today for a five-day official working visit aimed at inspecting key development projects and engaging directly with local communities.

During the tour, scheduled to run from April 22 to 26, Dr. Biteko will visit a number of ongoing projects in the sectors of water, education, and health.

His itinerary includes stops in the districts of Arusha, Arumeru, Longido, and Monduli, where he is expected to assess the progress of public service initiatives and hold open forums with citizens.

Speaking upon his arrival, Dr. Biteko emphasized the importance of government leaders staying connected to the people they serve.

“This visit is about listening, learning, and ensuring that the development projects being implemented truly meet the needs of our citizens,” he said. “As leaders, it’s our duty to make sure public investments deliver real impact.”

The visit will feature site inspections of water supply systems, school construction projects, and healthcare facilities  all part of the government’s broader strategy to improve access to essential services.

Dr. Biteko will also meet with local leaders and stakeholders to discuss opportunities and challenges in service delivery across the region.

This working tour also forms part of the national commemorations marking the 61st anniversary of the Union between Tanganyika and Zanzibar.

Celebrated annually on April 26, the Union symbolizes national unity, stability, and the collective advancement of all Tanzanians.

The government sees such regional visits as vital for monitoring progress on development goals, strengthening accountability, and reinforcing trust between leaders and the communities they serve.

Dr. Biteko’s presence on the ground is also expected to motivate local authorities and project implementers to maintain high standards and transparency in their work.

As the country continues to push forward with its development agenda, the Deputy Prime Minister’s tour underscores the government's commitment to inclusive growth and people-centered governance.

Dr. Biteko is expected to conclude his visit in Arusha on April 26, 2025, after participating in a series of public engagements aligned with the Union Day celebrations.
