Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner Albert Chalamila has handed over TZS 100 million to residents of Saranga in Ubungo District to support the construction of a much-needed health centre.
The funds were delivered on April 17, 2025, fulfilling a promise he made during a recent visit to the area, which has long struggled without proper healthcare services despite its growing population.
“This is just the beginning. We will continue to solve other challenges, but for now, I want this health centre to be completed quickly so that Saranga residents can start receiving health services,” said RC Chalamila.
In addition to the funds, he also donated several bags of cement to help speed up construction. The building had already been started by the community, and now efforts are focused on completing it and reaching the roofing stage.
Residents warmly thanked President Samia Suluhu Hassan for her commitment to improving healthcare services, especially for mothers and children, and promised continued support for her leadership.
Earlier the same day, RC Chalamila also inspected roads in Masaki, Kinondoni District. He strongly criticized the misuse of road reserves, illegal billboard installations, unplanned use of open spaces, and informal business setups.
“Masaki is a prime area,” he said. “Everything done here must follow proper guidelines and maintain a clean and organized environment.”
Kinondoni District Commissioner Saad Mtambule assured the RC that all instructions would be implemented quickly for the benefit of residents and the region as a whole.
