The Attorney General, Hamza S. Johari, said that the Office of the Attorney General has been actively involved in providing feedback during the creation and development of the National Development Vision 2050.

The goal is to make sure that the Vision includes all important issues related to the legal sector.

Hon. Johari shared these thoughts during a special interview with the media at his office in Mtumba, Dodoma, on March 10, 2025.

He also explained that his office is committed to making sure all matters related to the Office of the Attorney General are properly implemented so that the goals of the National Development Vision 2050 can be achieved.

“As the Office of the Attorney General, we will make sure that our current laws are in line with the direction we want to take.

We need to have a legal framework that will help us get there,” said the Attorney General.

He emphasized the importance of updating various laws to keep up with social and economic changes and to address challenges in law enforcement.

"Our office aims to be the leader in ensuring that all our laws are in line with the National Development Vision 2050," he added.

Johari also discussed the translation of laws, saying that many laws have been translated from English to Swahili to make them easier for people to understand and use.

“From July to December 2024, we successfully translated 300 main laws to help users understand them better,” he said.

He also mentioned that the Office of the Attorney General has completed the process of reviewing laws, ensuring that updated laws are now easier for users to access and use.
