The Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism is intensifying its efforts in monitoring and evaluating government activities carried out through its departments, units, and institutions, aiming to enhance efficiency in the execution of its responsibilities.

During the opening of a workshop for Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) experts, including M&E Champions from various departments, units, and institutions of the Ministry, in Dodoma, Ms. Sakina Mwinyimkuu, the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation of Government Activities from the Prime Minister’s Office, Policy, Parliamentary Affairs, and Coordination, emphasized the importance of improving their M&E knowledge.

She encouraged the participants to strengthen their skills, as their role is pivotal in driving high performance and achieving significant results in their work.

Ms. Mwinyimkuu commended the Ministry for organizing this training, which aims to produce essential documents that will further reinforce the monitoring and evaluation of the Ministry’s operations.

"You are the driving force behind performance improvement in your institutions. Ensure you consistently monitor and assess the work plans in place, educate the staff to execute their duties according to the scheduled timeframes, and ensure the intended outcomes are achieved," said Ms. Mwinyimkuu.

Furthermore, Ms. Bure Nassibu, the Acting Director of the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, stated that the Ministry is committed to providing continuous training for its experts.

This training aims to equip them with the necessary skills to monitor, evaluate, and compile reports on the implementation of institutional and departmental duties.

The 12-day training, facilitated by experts from the Prime Minister’s Office, Policy, Parliamentary Affairs, and Coordination, is expected to equip participants with critical documents that will strengthen Monitoring and Evaluation processes within the Ministry.
