Vice President urges Kasumo residents to support government's development efforts

 The Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Philip Mpango, has called on residents of Kasumo Village and Buhigwe District at large to recognize and appreciate the efforts of the Sixth Phase Government, under the leadership of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, in enhancing social services in the district.

Speaking during his visit to inspect the progress of Kahimba Girls' Secondary School in Kasumo Village, Buhigwe District, Kigoma Region, Dr. Mpango emphasized the government’s commitment to improving access to essential services. 

He noted that for years, residents of Kasumo and neighboring areas had to travel long distances to access basic social services, but now, these services have been brought closer to them.

The Vice President highlighted the government’s achievements in infrastructure development, including the construction of paved roads, bridges, health centers, schools, and water supply systems, all implemented over the past four years under President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan. 

He urged citizens to show their appreciation by supporting her in this year’s General Election.

He also encouraged students at Kahimba Girls' Secondary School to take full advantage of the opportunity to study hard and excel, ensuring the school produces top-tier professionals, similar to other prestigious institutions in the country.

 As part of his support, he pledged to reward the top five students in final examinations each year, along with teachers who deliver outstanding results, as an incentive to foster academic excellence.

Dr. Mpango commended the leadership of Kigoma Region and Buhigwe District for their effective supervision of the school’s construction, which will offer science education from Form One to Form Six. 

He also acknowledged the contributions of various development stakeholders in Buhigwe District who have consistently supported the government’s efforts to improve the education sector.

He urged residents of Kasumo Village to safeguard the newly established school by maintaining its infrastructure and fostering a peaceful learning environment. 

He called on parents and guardians to prioritize their children’s education, emphasizing that investing in knowledge will help the village produce future leaders and professionals who will contribute to national development.

 Additionally, he encouraged the community to actively participate in development projects by collaborating with the government to implement various social initiatives.

As the country approaches the 2025 General Election, the Vice President urged citizens to take part in the electoral process by voting for leaders who are committed to driving development.

 He also encouraged qualified individuals to step forward and contest leadership positions to contribute to the nation’s progress.
