The Tanzania Wrestling Federation (TAWF) has announced that the Union Championship will be held from April 21 to 26 this year in Dar es Salaam.
In an interview with The Respondent Online on March 4, 2025, TAWF Secretary General Abraham Nkabuka explained that the goal of the event is to bring Tanzanians together to celebrate the Union through wrestling.
Nkabuka mentioned that the exact location for the competition is still being discussed, and the TAWF leadership will meet to decide on the venue. More information will be provided later.
"Right now, the event is set to happen in Dar es Salaam. However, the venue is still undecided. Once the leadership makes a decision, participants will be informed," Nkabuka said.
He also noted that wrestlers are continuing their training at their clubs in preparation for the competition.
Nkabuka added that the federation is looking for sponsors to support the event and help make it a success.
He urged stakeholders to step forward and offer their support, which will help the federation reach its goal of organizing a successful championship.
